If you learn just one thing about the Valparaiso Church of Christ, we want you to know that we are here to serve you! Life’s journey isn’t always a smooth. Here are the answers to some of the most common questions that we are asked:
What time are services?
We invite you to join us during any of our church service and class times:
Sunday:10:00am - Noon Coffee, Fellowship, and Worship Time (Children's programs available for children age 6 months to 5th grade)*All activities located upstairs and can be accessed from the main entrance.
Wednesday:5:30pm Family Meal Time (Please join us for a home cooked meal!)6:30pm Bible Classes for All Ages*All activities located downstairs and can be accessed from the back entrances.
What kind of worship music do you sing at church?
Our worship service is conducted a capella using both modern and traditional worship music. Each song service is tailored to the topic of the morning's sermon so that we can experience a consistent theme for the service.
Do you have childcare?
Children's programming is available on Sunday mornings during our worship time. Our child drop-off and pick-up area is down the left hallway of the foyer. Volunteers will assist you in getting your child to the appropriate classroom:
- First Look Nursery: Ages 6 months to 2nd Birthday
- Explorer Central: Ages 2 to End of Preschool
- V-Town: Kindergarten to Fifth Grade
How do I get directions to Valparaiso?
Here are the directions to get to our church:
From the west (Merrillville): Take Route 30 heading east towards Valparaiso. The traffic light for Sturdy Road will be less than a mile after the passing under the railroad bridge and just past the entrance to Valparaiso University (on the left) and Graceland Cemetery (on the right). Turn right (heading south) onto Sturdy Road. The church building is less than ¼ mile down the road on the left.From the north (Chesterton): Take the 49 Bypass heading south towards Valparaiso. Take the Valparaiso exit heading west towards Valparaiso. Sturdy Road will be the second traffic light after the 49 Bypass. Turn left (heading south) onto Sturdy Road. The church building is less than ¼ mile down the road on the left.From the east (Wanatah): Take Route 30 heading west towards Valparaiso. Sturdy Road will be the second traffic light after the 49 Bypass. Turn left (heading south) onto Sturdy Road. The church building is less than ¼ mile down the road on the left.From the south (Kouts): Take the 49 Bypass heading north towards Valparaiso. Take the Valparaiso exit heading west towards Valparaiso. Sturdy Road will be the second traffic light after the 49 Bypass. Turn left (heading south) onto Sturdy Road. The church building is less than ¼ mile down the road on the left.
